Falling Into Place

Happy Fall Y’all!

It’s raining outside our 300 sq. ft. Brooklyn home and married life feels amazing! I wanted to share the journey that my husband and I took to get to this place. Not literally to Brooklyn (although, I’m sure that will come up), but the ceaseless process that was our wedding journey.

It may not come as any shock to a Desi girl that we had 6 events from the Mangni (Engagement) to the Valima (Muslim Reception). However, the melding of my Bengali roots to my husband’s Pakistani heritage muddled with our ABCD conundrums (American Born Confused Desi) took us 3 years to get to this rainy Sunday afternoon. It has truly been the most eye-opening, heart-warming, educational experience. My instincts as an elementary teacher has left me yearning to share these teachable moments to help other brides and couples along the way.

Welcome to my platform. . .
